GUITAR RULES

A WORKSHOP IS TO FOLLOW EACH DIVISION AND IS INCLUDED IN CLASS FEE.

1.A competitor must compete in their current grade of study.
Each competitor must supply the Adjudicator with a copy of the piece to be played.  No Photocopies are allowed for the student, Adjudicator or accompanist.  Please use original scores only. (Tablature and chord symbols are acceptable in this division.)
2.If time limit will allow, 2 contrasting pieces may be played.
3.OWN COMPOSITION For solo instrument, vocal, instruments with piano accompaniment or any combination of chamber instruments.
A copy of the composition MUST be received by  the Festival Registrar by February 1st in order to mail to the adjudicator for perusal.

SOLO ENTRY FEES:
Beginner                                                  $15.00 per class
Intermediate                                             $20.00 per class
Advanced and Open                                $25.00 per class
Own Composition Fees                           $20.00 per class

BEGINNER                            Up to Grade 2                 TIME LIMIT - 3 Minutes
INTERMEDIATE                  Up to Grade 5                 TIME LIMIT - 5 Minutes
ADVANCED                          Up to Grade 8                  TIME LIMIT - 7 Minutes
OPEN                                                                               TIME LIMIT - 10 Minutes
ALTERNATE                For students of any study level in Classical Guitar who wish to demonstrate 2 contrasting styles.  (Note - to proceed to Provincials, 2 or more contrasting styles, MUST be demonstrated at the local level. Time Limits and entry fee same as your entry from study level.

Years of study refers to the years playing on the instrument - not to private instruction only.

GUITAR ENSEMBLES

No limit on number of guitar players for Unison Groups or Guitar Orchestral Ensembles . In Guitar Ensembles up to 50% of players may be other instruments, i.e. voice, flute, etc.

Selections in the Guitar  Ensemble Section ONLY may be labeled TBA.
 If  using TBA for Selections, the title and composer must be announced clearly by the conductor before each piece is performed
